'Road blocked' after pedestrian hit by bus in Wolverhampton
A road in Wolverhampton was blocked in both directions this morning after a pedestrian was hit by a bus.
West Midlands Roads warned that Devon Road, Wolverhampton, has been blocked in both directions following a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian this morning (Monday (June 23).
Emergency services rushed to the scene and West Midlands Ambulance Service crews found one patient, a woman, who had been hurt.
One ambulance crew assessed the woman and found that she had sustained injuries not thought to be serious. She was conveyed to New Cross Hospital for further checks.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of an RTC involving a pedestrian and a bus on Devon Road, Wolverhampton at 9.57am this morning. One ambulance attended the scene to find a woman pedestrian who had been hurt.
"The ambulance crew assessed her and found she had sustained injuries not thought to be serious and was conveyed to New Cross Hospital for further checks."
Minor disruption was reported due to the incident, with West Midlands Roads warning to allow extra time for travel.
A West Midlands Roads spokesperson said: "Road is currently blocked in both directions. Allow extra time for travel."
