A second Hickory's Smokehouse restaurant is coming to Staffordshire as a pub undergoes renovation - here's where and when
A Staffordshire pub is set to have a new look and a new life as it becomes the latest Hickory's Smokehouse restaurant with 100 jobs being created
The Chase Gate on Wolverhampton Road in Wedges Mills, set on the outskirts of Cannock, is set to close its doors in October, ready for the work to begin to convert the pub into a Hickory's Smokehouse ahead of re-opening at the start of 2026.
The restaurant, which is famed for its high quality barbecued and smokehouse food and friendly service, will be the second in Staffordshire, following on from the restaurant on Kingsway in Stafford.

Along with a significant investment in the new smokehouse, Hickory’s will also be creating 100 jobs and will be actively recruiting for chefs, servers, bartenders and managers, as well as supporting current team members at the Chase Gate.
Hickory's said the team were busy putting the final touches to their plans and were thrilled to be coming to Cannock.

A spokesman for Hickory's Smokehouse said: “We are excited to be heading to Cannock as it’s a new area for us but an area that has been on our radar for some time now.
"We are so happy to be finally planning our first in the town and our second in the wonderful county of Staffordshire.
"Our new Cannock home is just 20 minutes away from our hugely popular smokehouse in Stafford, so we know a lot of our regular guests will be pleased to get their BBQ fix a little closer to home.

“We’ll be spending more time getting to know the local area and our ambition is to create something truly special.
"We are looking forward to becoming part of the community for many years to come.”
