'Overweight' van loaded with chicken stopped by police after speeding on M6 near Stafford
A van stopped after being seen speeding on the M6 was found by police officers to be loaded with chicken and 'overweight'.
Officers from Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team stopped the Mercedes Sprinter between junctions 13 and 14 of the M6 on Friday after capturing it doing 85 miles per hours.
The van was stopped and found to be loaded with chicken, so was put on a weight bridge and subsequently found to be 2.1 tons over weight, with it measuring 1.3 tons over on the rear axle.

Officers seized the van and cabled it, while the driver was reported.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team said: "Between the M6 junction 13 to junction 14, a Mercedes Sprinter was spotted by our patrol speeding at 85mph.
"When stopped, it was found to be loaded with chicken.

"The Sprinter was weighed and found to be 61 per cent (2.1ton) over weight on gross 60 per cent (1.3Ton) over on rear axle.
"The vehicle was prohibited and cabled and the driver reported."
