Appeal launched to trace stolen jewellery following distraction burglary in Sedgley
An appeal has been launched by West Midlands Police to find a number of items of jewellery stolen following a distraction burglary.
West Midlands Police said that on Tuesday, a man pretending to be a window cleaner stole jewellery in a distraction burglary in the Sedgley area.
Officers investigating the burglary said they are keen to hear from anyone with information, and in particular pawn shops or jewellers in case the items have been sold to them.
They also said that the items stolen are of huge sentimental value to their owner and they are looking to reunite them.
The jewellery stolen included an 18ct gold engagement ring with three diamonds in a platinum mount, a gold “wishbone” style ring with alternating diamonds and rubies, a gold eternity ring with alternating blue sapphires and diamonds (one of the diamonds is missing) and a number of other stolen gold items.

Detective Constable Jodie Cox said: “It is likely the person who stole these items has sold them in the local area, possibly in Dudley or Wolverhampton.
“It is entirely possible they were bought in good faith by a business or individual who was unaware they were stolen.
“If you have seen them or come into contact with them, do the right thing and contact us so we can return them to their rightful owner.
"If you think you know more about this, contact us via 101 quoting crime number 20/278116/25."
