Romeo Johnson, aged 36 and of Birmingham, has been jailed for five years at Birmingham Crown Court after admitting to being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine on Thursday, June 12.

The sentence comes after Staffordshire Police officers spotted Johnson involved in what they believed to be a drug deal on Stafford Road, Cannock, on March 13, 2020.

When they searched Johnson, they found drugs, several hundred pounds in cash, and a Nokia 'burner' mobile phone.

Officers then went to search an address in the town, where they found signs of class A drug use, including burned foil, as well as electronic scales and a lock-knife in the living room.

A police dog attended the scene, and in the upstairs bedroom, a large quantity of crack cocaine and heroin were found concealed behind a child's bed.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "Romeo Johnson, 36, from Birmingham, was locked up for five years at Birmingham Crown Court after admitting to being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.

"The work is part of our ongoing commitment to proactively and relentlessly target groups and individuals responsible for high-harm crimes, including county lines drug distribution, illegal firearms activity, modern slavery, and cyber-crime in our county."
