'We run a glamping site at Himley Hall and it has been one big learning experience for the whole family'

It has been a year of learning for a family-run campsite and glamping site set in a secluded part of Himley Hall, but also a year of celebration and preparation for the future.

Charlotte Poole, her husband Simon and her mother Belinda Clarke have worked over the last year to turn Himley Glamping, Weddings and Events into a multi-purpose events venue.

Situated on the grounds of Himley Hall in the former model village at West Lodge, the glamping site is set over 2.5 acres of woodland with five bell tents and two caravans, all fitted with double or king sized beds and most with room for extra single beds if required and each room having its own character.

The family took over the running of the site a year ago, with Ms Poole, who works as host at the site, saying that they had taken an interest in it when she and Simon had booked their wedding there.

She said: "My mum's a celebrant and she'd been looking for a venue to host weddings and she knew the previous owners, so we ended up booking our wedding there in July and then, by the time we'd come to do the wedding, we had taken over the site as the opportunity came up and we just took it.
