'We've got a dog that's petrified to go out' - Black Country residents troubled by street racers near their homes
A Black Country resident said the sounds from street racers travelling near his home have left his dog “petrified” to go outside.
Raymond and Christine Cotterill have lived in Moxley, near Darlaston, all their lives, and said they think the problem is getting worse.
Raymond, aged 72, told the Express & Star: "We’ve got motorbikes going round all the while.
“We’ve got a dog that’s petrified to go out. At about 10pm last night there was a motorbike going round.
“We need some more police presence. They come round in their cars and that’s it - we don’t see them again. They’re never out when you want them.”
Raymond said he and Christine can hear motorbikes "skidding" around a roundabout near to where they live.

Christine added: “We live on the end of the road and we’ve one of these high fences, then a bit of green and you can see where they’ve gone across.
“They’re going to lose control one of these days. It’s never them that gets hurt though - it’s an innocent bystander, isn’t it?”
Injunctions banning street racing, first granted by the High Court in 2024, are in place in Birmingham and the Black Country comprising Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell and Dudley.
They prohibit participation as a driver, rider or passenger in street racing and prohibit promoting, organising or publicising gatherings or participating as a spectator.
A High Court judge agreed the injunctions would continue until at least 2027 at a hearing in February.
Henry and Pauline Careless live in Seisdon near Wolverhampton and said they see street racers "every day".
