Cannock police and county road team crackdown on illegal vehicles

Officers from Cannock LPU and Staffordshire's Road Crime Team (RCT) have seized a number of uninsured vehicles as part of a crackdown in the area.

Patrols were increased in Hednesford and Norton Canes last weekend (June 6 to 8) and a total of four vehicles were seized. 

A motorcycle was also seized and the rider was reported for having no insurance at Tesco car park in Hednesford on Sunday (June 8).

On nearby Scarborough Way a Vauxhall Astra was seized a short time later, with the driver reported for no licence or insurance. That followed a BMW being seized on Friday (June 6), also on Scarborough Way, with the driver also reported for no licence or insurance. 

On Sunday an Audi was seized on Burntwood Road, Norton Canes, after the driver failed to stop for officers. 

He was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, failure to stop, driving without a licence and insurance.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
