Man charged over shop thefts across two weeks in Coseley

A man has been arrested and charged on suspicion of a number of shoplifting offences in Coseley over the last two weeks.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of a weapon after a store in Coseley was targeted over a two week period.

West Midlands Police confirmed that a 37-year-old man had been arrested and charged with seven counts of theft and possessing a knife after being arrested on Tuesday on Central Drive in Coseley.

He was taken into police custody and was due to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court on Thursday.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We've charged a shoplifting suspect with theft after a store in Coseley was targeted a number of times over the last two weeks.

"The 37-year-old man was charged yesterday with seven counts of theft and possessing a knife after being detained in the Central Drive area on Tuesday.

"He remained in police custody overnight before being due at Walsall Magistrates Court today (Thu)."
