Dudley man charged with string of shoplifting offences

A Dudley man has been arrested of suspicion of a string of shoplifting offences across Dudley and Sandwell

Ricki Simkins was arrested by West Midlands Police on Saturday and charged with 10 thefts in Dudley and one in Sandwell.

The 32-year-old, of no fixed abode, was remanded into custody to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court on Monday morning. 

No details are yet available of that appearance.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been charged with a string of shoplifting offences across Dudley.

"Ricki Simkins, aged 32, of no fixed abode has been charged with 10 thefts in Dudley and one theft in Sandwell.

"Over several months, hundreds of pounds of items including household products, electrical items and clothing have been stolen from various stores in Brierley Hill, Dudley, Stourbridge, Pensnett and Oldbury.

"Simkins was remanded in custody to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court this morning (11 Nov).

"If you see anything suspicious activity in your area please call 101."
