Judith Glover, who lives in Wolverhampton, wrote the book based on her true life story in tracing her long lost family.

The 72-year-old said: "My Hidden Family is my true life story and I succeeded in the end after a lot of decisions and investigations with surprising results. It is also biographical in order for readers to understand why it took so long – 45 years – to complete this book.

"I also put together a booklet a few years ago about The Mrs Legge Home which had been at 89 North Road, Wolverhampton, which helped many people who did not know what this address was although it appeared on their birth certificates. The contents of that booklet are also covered in "My Hidden Family" in the hope it may yet assist more people.

"I had no idea who I really was or, indeed, any written confirmation until I was 68 years old. Many people prevaricated in telling me the truth, and I just had to persevere.

"I was in my 20s before I realised I was not adopted, I was long-term fostered. When my girls were born it hit me – who was I, where did I come from – I knew nothing about myself. When I got into my 40s I was desperate to find out about myself.

"It feels incredible to have put my story pen to paper. It has been a lifetime achievement for me and people have been interested in my story – and I think it could still help other people."

Judith's self-published book, My Hidden Family, costs £9.99 plus £2 postage. To order a copy of the book, email Judith on judith171.snowy@gmail.com. It is also available from Amazon, E-books and Book Depository.
