There has been an overwhelming response to the first Express & Star Pawtrait Pets competition.
With over 900 pets showcased, the hunt was on to find this year’s most popular pet.
Around 408,000 votes were received and counted from both in paper vote tokens and SMS votes, it has been an extremely popular competition.
The winner taking the crown of the Express & Star Pawtrait Pet of the year 2019 is Poppy, the miniature dachshund dog who lives with Geraldine Rudge from Claverley.
She receives the top prize of £500. Congratulations!
In second place taking home £250 is Rebecca Parsons, from Wolverhampton, who nominated her cat Oliver.
Finally, in third place winning £100 is Vicky Sterrett, the proud owner of Teddy the cat from Bloxwich.
Thank you to all the participants in this year’s competition and congratulations again to our top three winners, Poppy, Oliver and Teddy.
