Auctioneers are busy preparing for the three exciting lots, which will feature vintage season tickets, programmes and shirts.

Fans hoping to win a rare find could grab the entire collection of football mementos at the Wolverhampton-branch of Cuttlestones Auctioneers and Valuers next week.

Wolves fans young and old can snap up the vintage memorabilia during the auction house's specialist collectors' sale on Friday.

The star of the show looks set to be a lot boasting six Wolves season tickets dating from 1902 to 1913, with each still containing some unusual stubs.

The winner bidder will also grab an original copy of the Express & Star, featuring 'Sportsman Congratulate The Wolves', dated April 25, 1932.

Staff at the auction house are expecting "significant interest" in this lot, with a gavel price of between £800 and £1,200 anticipated.

Client manager Rosie Blackburn said: "Wolves memorabilia regularly performs well in the sale room, generating a lot of interest in the room and further afield via live online bidding.

"However, the tickets are especially rare as they tend to be discarded while fans hang on to programmes as a memento - so we expect they’ll cause some real excitement among sports collectors and Wolves fans alike.”

A large collection of Wolves programmes, dating from the 1950s, is set to feature in a second lot going up for sale.

The programmes include home and away fixtures, friendly internationals and cup finals, with some boasting signatures.

Several match day stamp covers also feature, as well as a Sainsbury's official England squad 1998 medal collection and 1966 tournament souvenir programme for England Internationals.

Fans can also expect to see a framed 1920s BDV Cigarettes Wolverhampton League Colours Silk and a 1949 Wembley Rugby League Challenge Cup programme when Bradford Northern played Halifax.

This bumper lot, dubbed a "great collector's haul", is expected to fetch anything between £30 and £50.

A collection of four Wolves shirts from 2006-08, 2013-14 and 2014-15, including some which are signed, will also be on auction.

Together with a signed Mitre football, the lot is again set to fetch £30 to £50 at the Wolverhampton auction rooms in Clarence Street.

Villa fans are also in for treat as a rare volume of journals capturing the club's games are also set to go under the hammer at the auction house.

Limited-edition journal "The Villa News and Record", dating back to 1936, features match reports, results and articles by manager James Hogan.

It is expected to fetch up to £300.

Viewing will take place from 10am until 7pm on Thursday, as well as on Friday morning.
