Seven fire crews tackle large barn blaze

Seven fire crews were today tackling a barn engulfed in flames near Bridgnorth.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue were called out to the fire at High Barns Bungalow in Six Ashes, Bridgnorth, at 8.53.

The barn contained a large amount of hay, which had had become very dry due to the recent hot weather.

Emergency crews, from Bridgnorth and Craven Arms, were using a pumping unit, breathing apparatus and a water carrier in an attempt to put out the flames.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue said the teams were making good progress.

Emergency services are reassuring members of the public that no people are involved in the incident.
