Woman taken to hospital after car overturns

A woman was taken to hospital after a car overturned following a crash today.

The woman received a 'deep cut' to her left hand after the crash on Sedgley Road in Woodsetton around midday.

She was taken to Russells Hall Hospital while the driver, a man, was treated for shock.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.34pm and the road was closed for around one hour.

Crew commander David Owen said: "One car collided with a parked car and it ended up on its roof.

"A man and woman were inside the (overturned) vehicle. Prior to the fire service's arrival they were out of the car.

"The woman was treated by ambulance crews. She had a deep cut to her left hand. The head paramedic told us her injury was not thought to be life changing.

"The driver, who was a man, was treated at the scene for shock while the woman was taken to hospital.

"The road was closed for about an hour."

The crash took place near to the junction of George Street.

One crew from Dudley Fire Station and police also attended.
