The incident happened near the Broad Street car park and one victim was treated inside the nearby Planet nightclub

The attack happened close to the Broad Street car park in the early hours of yesterday morning, at 1.30am.

One of the victims was initially treated inside The Planet Nightclub, which closed down following the incident.

The man, in his 20s, was stabbed in the neck and chest.

He was treated inside the nightclub, which usually closes at 4am, before being taken to hospital.

The other victim, another man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his arm and back.

Both are in a stable condition.

The nightclub issued a statement this morning, explaining why it closed early.

Nightclub premises supervisor Riki Lovatt said: "It was around 1.30am when the injured man came in.

"Everyone was panicking and holding paper towels to the man's neck.

"999 was called and the emergency services arrived very quickly.

"We closed the club to give the paramedics space to treat the man.

"They took him out on a stretch and he seemed to be okay."

He added: "People were supportive of the decision to close as soon as they realised what had happened."

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Police were called at 1.20am this morning to a car park on Westbury St in Wolverhampton, following reports that there had been a stabbing.

"Two men aged 22 and 25 was taken to hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

"Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening."

"CCTV has been checked in the area and a number of witnesses were spoken to at the scene but we would encourage anyone who hasn’t yet spoken to us to call 101 quoting crime reference 20WV/207631X/17."
