Sally Usherwood, aged 34 from Rowley Regis, was nominated for the title by her fellow peers at the Slimming World group based at Portway Lifestyle Centre in Oldbury.

(ADDED) She has dropped four dress sizes, from size 22 to 14, and now admits finding general mobility easier and less likely to leave her breathless.

She said: "I feel fabulous. It has given me a lot more confidence losing the weight. I feel much better about myself.

"It has taken a lot of determination. I lost the weight by following a plan and diet.

"I feel it just proves the classes work."

Sally, who works in IT, was inspired to take up weight-loss classes after she returned from holiday and wasn't happy with her image.

She said: "It was after returning from holiday in September. I looked at some pictures and I wasn't happy with them. I have always had low confidence and wanted to make a change."

There are more than 80 members in the class.

Her Slimming World Consultant Clare Ford said: "I think she has done amazingly well. I am so proud of her. She is a very committed member and comes every week. She is very determined and stuck to the plan.

"I have been a consultant since September last year. I run five sessions per week with lots of dedicated members and the numbers are still growing.

"I just want to help people achieve their targets and dreams."
