Hundreds of people enjoyed a school production of Oliver at Wolverhampton's Light House.

The show was put on by Wolverhampton Girls' High School over two nights last month.

Children from across the school took part, from Year 7 to 13. They rehearsed from January for their parts.

Oliver was chosen by school bosses to go alongside a project on Victorian England.

It was directed by English teacher Joanne Marshall, with help from musical director Julia Bishop, who is head of music.

Producer Patricia Blunt said: "I think it was a spectacular performance, everyone enjoyed it."

She added: "It combined the girls' musician and acting talent, giving them all a chance to shine."

Next year's show has yet been chosen.
