The Queen's Head pub, located on Enville Street in Stourbridge, was bought eight weeks ago by Black Country Ales.

The firm has invested a 'six-figure sum' into the pub, revamping the insides and bringing back a skittle alley which fell into disrepair.

The pub is being run by Stephen and Lesley Roney, pictured with a pint in their hands, who are experienced in the pub industry. It opened on Thursday (20).

Black Country Ales director Angus McMeeking said: "We have carried out a total refurbishment of the building which is from the 19th century.

"It is a nice, historic pub. We have just tried to take it back to old, traditional ways.

"We have done a lot of work on a beer garden out the back, and brought out a former stable building which was previously a skittle alley - that is now a skittle alley and function room.

"We have redecorated the pub from top to bottom. We have opened up some old chimneys and put some traditional fire places in.

"There is quite a large number of things which have taken place, but we have aimed to keep the character and old historic charm of the place."

There will be 12 hand pools, or beer pumps, at the pub which will have a constant changing selection of ales and ciders.

This will be in addition to three types of Black Country Ales' ales, which will be a permanent fixture.

The skittle alley will be available for hire.
