Bernie Smith from Hednesford has been jailed for 28 months after he was arrested in the toilets of an unnamed bar. Officers acted after seeing someone hand him a £10 note, Stafford Crown Court heard.

In his top pocket was a portion of Mkat but he then confessed to officers that he had more drugs hidden in his underpants.

Miss Michelle Heeley, prosecuting, said the other drugs turned out to be 22 wraps of cocaine with a total weight of just under six grams and a street value of £470.

Also seized from the defendant, on January 31 this year, was his mobile phone, which contained text messages 'indicative of low level street dealing', said Miss Heeley.

Smith, aged 25, of Rowley Close, admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply and possessing Mkat.

Judge Carmel Wall told him: "It's clear that street dealing in Class A drugs passes the custody threshold. You were dealing in drugs you were addicted to."

Smith, who was not legally represented, admitted being a street dealer but told the judge he had nothing more to say.
