The Little Dessert Shop, on Queen Street, has been a huge hit, with between 10,000 to 15,000 people walking through its doors since it opened in May.

Now owners have announced a new take away and delivery service will be opening on the Wolverhampton Road in Wednesfield in late November, creating a further 15 jobs.

Manager Dane Bartholomew, 26, said: "We're really looking forward to the new store opening and we're hoping it will be a big success for Christmas time.

"We couldn't have dreamed of being so successful with the Queen Street shop, it's been fantastic and done so well in just the short amount of time it's been open.

The new Wednesfield store will not feature a dining area

"The new Wednesfield store however will be a little different. It will be a take away and delivery service only.

"We're trying to appeal to passers by who might not necessarily always have the time to stop, sit and eat.

"We aim to have a quick and fluent service for busy people, with a number of different menus and new surprises for everyone.

"I'm sure the people of Wednesfield will be looking forward to this.

"We're just getting all the finalities sorted out and will have a date and times for opening very soon.

"It really is exciting times for the shop and for the area. I'm delighted to be expanding the business."

The Little Dessert Shop's Facebook page has had over 26,000 'likes' since opening, with visitors complimenting the cakes, shakes, sundaes and waffles on offer from their menu.

The store originally opened with 10 members of staff, but within weeks had to increase and employ another 30 people due to the high demand of visitors.

Owner of the store, Maz Ali, admitted they were 'absolutely overwhelmed with the local reaction' when the shop first opened, but some five months on queues can still be seen out the door, especially on Sundays, which have been described as the 'busiest family day'.
