A man faces a two-week crown court trial over the murder of his partner in her West Bromwich home.

Trevor Tyndale, 52, of Abbey Close, West Bromwich appeared in Birmingham Crown Court for a brief hearing today.

Prosecutor Paul Spratt said Tyndale had been charged with murdering Wendy Mann on August 27.

Her body was found in the kitchen of her home in Chapel Street on Friday morning.

Tyndale, who spoke only to confirm his name, will next appear at the court on November 13 for a plea and case management hearing.

A two-week trial date has been fixed for February 22 next year.

Tyndale, who fiddled with his glasses throughout the short hearing, was remanded in custody.
