Body found in Walsall is missing man Jason Whitehouse

The body of a man found in Walsall has been confirmed as Jason Whitehouse who went missing last year.

Mr Whitehouse's body was discovered near to Sneyd Brook in Primley Avenue Park on May 12.

A post mortem carried out yesterday proved inconclusive but police say they are not treating the 43-year-old's death as suspicious.

The case has now been passed on to the coroner.

Mr Whitehouse's family has been informed and are receiving support. The Willenhall man went missing in August 2014 after walking out of Walsall Manor Hospital where he was receiving treatment.

Police launched an investigation following the discovery of the body.

A forensic tent was put up at the scene, next to the West Walsall E-Act Academy and Walsall Canal.
