Body found in Birmingham canal in hunt for missing West Bromwich man
Police searching for a missing West Bromwich man have found a body in a Birmingham canal.
Sidonio Conceico had not been seen since he visited his brother at a friend's house in Birmingham last Friday.
The 35-year-old stayed only a matter of minutes at the property in Gilby Road, Ladywood, before leaving for his West Bromwich home, which he shares with family.
The Portugese national was thought to have travelled back to West Bromwich along the Birmingham canal on his electric bicycle, but when his brother returned home the following afternoon he found the house to be undisturbed as though Mr Conceico had not returned.
The body was found in a canal in Winson Green shortly before 11.45am yesterday.
Formal identification will take place in due course, and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
