Man charged over Wolverhampton doorman stabbing

A man has today been charged in connection with the stabbing of a pub doorman in Wolverhampton.

Craig Birch, aged 31, from Inkerman Street, in Heathtown, Wolverhampton, will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow.

He is charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.

Police were called to the Harp Inn, in Walsall Street, at around 2.45am last Saturday where a 38-year-old doorman was found with a knife wound to his body.

He remains in a critical condition in hospital.

A 27-year-old woman remains on bail following her arrest on Monday.
