Man and woman arrested after Wolverhampton doorman stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a bouncer was stabbed.

The 29-year-old was arrested by police today.

A 26-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender.

The 38-year-old victim, who has not been named, was attacked in the early hours of Saturday morning at The Harp Inn in Horseley Fields, Wolverhampton.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "We know from looking at CCTV that there were a lot of people around so we are still urging people to come forward with any information on the incident."

The doorman was treated by paramedics at the scene, in Walsall Street and taken to hospital where he currently remains in a critical condition.

The area was cordoned off by detectives and a forensic tent put up following the stabbing that happened around 2.45am on Saturday.
