Haulage boss took weapons on plane

A  businessman was caught with a stun gun, baton and CS gas canister after stepping off a plane from Thailand.

Haulage boss Colin Callow, 61, of Longwood, Sutton Maddock, Shifnal, received a suspended sentence yesterday at Isleworth Crown Court, London.

Callow, director of Callow Transport and Storage, admitted smuggling the stun gun, friction lock baton and CS gas canister at the airport on December 10.

He was sentenced to eight months imprisonment, suspended for 15 months and ordered to pay £300 costs and £100 surcharge.
