Woman vicar now taken on as new Archdeacon of Dudley

A woman vicar from London has been appointed as the next Archdeacon of Dudley.

Nikki Groarke, who is currently at St Stephen's Church in Canonbury, Islington will take up the position with the Diocese of Worcester.

She will be licensed in Dudley at the beginning of January and will be installed as a Canon of Worcester Cathedral at around the same time.

For the last five years she has been vicar of St Stephen's Canonbury.

She grew up in Worcestershire and was a pupil at Flyford Flavell Primary and Pershore High schools.

"I am very excited to be coming back to my home county, after ministering in London for the past 13 years." The Ven Trethewey retired from the ministry at the end of this month.
