The Halesowen Ukulele Group Strummers (HUGS) will be performing on the steps of Dudley Council House to welcome visitors to the Heritage Open Day event being held on September 14.

The national day is organised by English Heritage and as part of the event, Dudley Council has organised a fun-filled day for the family at the council house. The Council House on Priory Road, Dudley, will be open from 11am to 3pm.

There will be guided tours of the council chamber, including a talk about how the council works and the insignia at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm when people can also see the mayoral badge, chain and mace.

There will also be photographs of Dudley town centre over the years on display and visitors can also join the Deputy Mayor and consort for tea in the Mayor's Parlour.

Councillor Alan Finch, Mayor of Dudley, said: "We are looking forward to hosting the Heritage Open Day event and hope to see people of all ages coming along to enjoy the activities on offer."
