The group of up to 40 guests were forced to leave Holiday Inn Express in Walsall after trouble broke out.

Police were called to the scene, off junction 10 of the M6, at around 7.30am yesterday and escorted the troublemakers from the premises.

Hotel staff said it was a group of travellers who were staying at the hotel on Wednesday night after attending a wedding in the area.

Rosie Johnson, receptionist at the hotel in Tempus Drive, said: "They had smashed cups and one of the meeting rooms and corridors were vandalised. Their rooms were checked and they were okay. They had been to a wedding elsewhere and were mainly just being disruptive."

No arrests were made.
