First 4 Staff was set up by its current managing director Jason Guy over 13 years ago.

It now has three bases in the Midlands, with branches in Wolverhampton, Telford and Cannock.

The new Cannock branch is located in Walsall Road.

Mr Guy said: "Matt is a friend of mine. As a company we sponsored his testimonial game in 2011 and he returned the favour by agreeing to come down to our official opening.

"We've taken on a new member of staff with two more to follow shortly."

Mr Guy said the company would be expanding even more this year and said he hoped to open a fourth branch in Birmingham by the end of the year.

At last month's opening, footballer turned TV pundit Matt said: "First 4 Staff sponsored my testimonial so I wanted to return the favour.

"Since retiring I like to keep my local connections.

"I also like to help out in the community when I can."

Mr Guy, aged 35, set up First 4 Staff from scratch after securing financial help from the the Prince's Trust charity. Previously he had been a factory worker.

First 4 Staff, a recruitment firm for the industrial and commercial sector, currently employs 12 people.
