Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused to the property, in Goscote Place, Walsall, after the latest smash.

A Volvo left the road and crashed through the fence, demolishing the porch, and caused damage to the kitchen walls and hall.

Resident Tony Jones, aged 64, said the accident, at around 1.30pm last Thursday, was the latest in a number where cars have lost control while travelling along the main Goscote Lane, in Goscote. They have then struck his property on the corner with Goscote Place.

The grandfather-of-one has lived at the address for more than 30 years and said he feared there would eventually be a fatality.

He and his wife Lyn, aged 61, were out at the time and returned home to find the damage. "It is three times in the last 10 years that something has come through here," Mr Jones said.

"Whenever you hear screeching you are frightened something is going to come through your house. It has happened again and it is devastating.

"I worry about what is going to happen next, it is my house and I love it here, but you can't keep worrying something is going to come through your garden and into your house." He is expecting the repair bill to run into thousands of pounds.

Blakenall ward councillor Pete Smith said he was due to speak to Walsall Council officers about introducing safety measures such as a barrier.
