The market will arrive in Wednesbury during the last three Thursdays in December.

It has been organised by town councillors and Bescot Promotions and it is hoped it will draw crowds of shoppers into the town centre during the lead-up to Christmas.

Visitors will be able to browse stalls set up in the streets selling gifts and crafts.

Refreshments will be on sale, and there will also be entertainment laid on in the form of carol singers and music.

It will run in Market Square on December 6, 13 and 20 between 10am and 7pm with hundreds of people expected to visit the stalls.

Town councillor Olwen Jones, who was the driving force behind planning the event, said: "We just want to bring life into the town.

"This is great news for Wednesbury, we are doing it for Wednesbury and to get people into the town."
