Plans have been submitted to build on the 4,800 sqft of car park at the complex, close to the entrance to Debenhams and Sainsbury's.

The plan forms part of a wider expansion of the Brierley Hill complex as it attempts to cement its position as one of Britain's premier shopping centres.

An ice rink would be built and an adventure ropes area created in the two-storey entrance. There would be a family entertainment centre with party room and soft play area with cafe.

The plans, submitted to Dudley Council by Paragon Entertainment, also include wind tunnel skydiving, water sport play area, and a surfing facility. Merry Hill confirmed the plans had been submitted but declined to comment further.
