Pupils and teachers at Alumwell Junior School today said they spent an "inspiring" morning with Team GB footballers Sophie Bradley and Jess Clarke.

The pair, who both run out for Lincoln Ladies, held a training session with pupils before taking part in a question and answer session. They were grilled by pupils on everything from life in the Olympic Village to what they have to eat and who their sporting inspirations are.

Angela Hill, deputy headteacher at Alumwell Junior School, said: "Sophie and Jess were both really lovely and they are such good role models for the children.

"They spoke about how important education is and about the hard work and training involved in sport."

The girls also visited The Streetly Academy.

Centre back Bradley, aged 22, and 23-year-old winger Clarke are in the squad for England Ladies Euro 2013 qualifier against Croatia on Wednesday.
