This mischievous moggie was stuck 50ft up a park tree for two nights – because the fire service refused to go out and rescue him.

Ten-month-old Dylan clambered part way up the huge tree in Muchall Park just yards from his Wolverhampton home on Sunday and was stuck there until yesterday.

Owner Pamela Garbett called West Midlands Fire Service in the hope they would be able to rescue the cute feline but she was told firefighters could not be sent because it was not an emergency.

The fire service eventually sent a crew yesterday after the RSPCA said it would pay. Miss Garbett, aged 64, of Manor Road, Penn, said: "He was up there for two nights and I was worried about his safety."
