Two men were today still being questioned by police on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in a Tividale flat.

A post mortem was due to take place today on the 60-year-old victim to establish how he died.

Police and paramedics were called to the flat, in Baldwin Close, at 11.50pm on Monday and the man was pronounced dead.

Two men, aged 46 and 50, were arrested at the scene and were today still helping police with their inquiries.

Forensics investigations are continuing.

Det Insp Gary Dring said it was too early to establish what the cause of death was.

He added: "We are not ruling anything out. We need to wait for the results of a forensic exam and post mortem.

"We need to know the people who frequented the address, the people who lived there and anyone else who knew him."

The victim is yet to be formally identified but residents described him as a friendly man.

Grandmother-of-12 Sylvia Ghaleb, said: "I would see him going out between 8.30am and 10am on some mornings," she said.

"He was an elderly gentleman who was very polite. He would always say 'good morning'.
