A 25-year-old man seriously injured after being stabbed in Dudley is a musician who has toured the world with his band, it emerged today.

Jack Turley, drummer in pop punk group, The Fight, was stabbed on Sunday night in Cromwell Street, Kates Hill, along with Faid Saleh, aged 21.

Both are in a serious but stable condition today at Dudley's Russells Hall Hospital. His sister and bandmate Kate Turley said he remained in intensive care but was coming out of a coma.

She added: "The whole of the local community have been extremely supportive and have sent a lot of messages and kind word's to pass on to my brother."

Scores of messages of support have been put on Facebook. His mother Maria wrote: "We would like to thank everyone for all the fantastic support and wishes." Former Castle High School pupil Mr Turley, of Kates Hill, has been in the four-piece group since 2000.

They recorded an album in 2004 with the producer of American band Fall Out Boy.

Sean Davies, 19, of Cromwell Street, Dudley, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of an offensive weapon.

He appeared at Dudley magistrates yesterday and was remanded in custody. A second man, also 19, has been released on police bail.
