Two masked robbers escaped with a haul of cash after forcing their way into a well-known children's play centre in Brownhills, police revealed today.

The men forced a woman worker at Crash! Bang! Wallop! to unlock a safe at the complex in Lindon Road. The pair struck as the lone worker opened up.

They managed to flee with an unknown quantity of cash.

Detectives today urged members of the public to come forward with information about the raid, which was described as "deplorable". The centre is used by hundreds of children every day.

Witnesses should call West Midlands Police on 0345 113 5000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
