A West Midlands police detective has appeared in court facing charges over 10 data protection and computer misuse offences.

A West Midlands police detective has appeared in court facing charges over 10 data protection and computer misuse offences.

Detective Constable Balwinder Basran, 47, is charged with three counts of obtaining or disclosing personal data and seven of causing a computer to perform a function to secure or enable unauthorised access.

DC Basran will appear at Cannock Magistrates Court on Wednesday. He has not yet entered a plea.
