MANCITY V WOLVES 16 AE 22Wolves' record signing Kevin Doyle is getting ready for his Molineux debut warning his team-mates not to be content to lose narrowly to the Premier League big boys.

The promoted side came away from their first brush with the top-flight elite on Saturday with plenty of positives, despite a 1-0 defeat at Manchester City.

Doyle's first 45 minutes, as a second-half substitute after hernia surgery, was among them and the former Reading striker is now gearing up for more football against Swindon in tomorrow night's Carling Cup clash, before the home Premier League clash with Hull City on Saturday.

The £6.5million man, one of the few in Mick McCarthy's squad to have experienced this level before, is warning Wolves not to be sucked into avoiding heavy punishment against the Premier League's major forces.

He said: "I think you have to believe you can win any game, as Burnley proved last week. You don't just forget about the big teams.

"I think everyone was turning up to see a show on Saturday and wasn't too worried about us! Nobody apart from us probably thought we could get something out of the game, but we've ended up disappointed that we didn't cause a little upset.

"We put in a decent performance in and managed to put them under some pressure, particularly in the second half. We created some good chances in the second half and hit the crossbar and on another day could have got a draw.

"But we don't want to be happy going away from a place like this with a 1-0 defeat. We wanted to get something out of the game."

Doyle and Christophe Berra are among the early injury casualties who can expect to figure against Swindon as they pursue match sharpness.
