Central's Joanne turns the air blue

Central Tonight news presenter Joanne Malin had to apologise to viewers after swearing live on air.

The presenter said sorry after turning the air blue during last night's live broadcast from Trentham Gardens, near Stone.

The presenter was talking about the dismal weather when she made the gaffe.

Today a spokesman for the programme played down the incident, claiming there had been no complaints or comments from viewers as a result.

But a spokesman for Trentham Gardens revealed that viewers had been in contact with the visitor attraction, mainly in support of the presenter.

Steve Hamilton, of Trentham, said: "We had one e-mail from someone asking whether they had heard correctly or imagined it and another saying how funny they thought it was."

Sorry, we are not accepting comments on this article.
