The singer-songwriter and member of The Jackson 5 said the valley was "beautiful" and would be making a visit again in the future.

He joined the railway in Bridgnorth, before Tito and his team got comfy in a first-class compartment – before jumping on the footplate of Bradley Manor on arrival in Kidderminster on Wednesday.

Tito said: "I love the trains, they are such massive feats of engineering and the Severn Valley is beautiful.

"I will be visiting again for sure."

Having had a swing on the shovel and trying the driver's hat on for size, Tito sampled the Kidderminster Refreshment Room's finest sandwiches, before heading back to Bridgnorth with a coffee in hand.

A spokesman for Severn Valley Railway added: "It is not every day you have a member of the Jackson 5 taking a ride on a steam train – we want you back!"
