Wolverhampton's Sophielou has a new single out

Sophielou was nominated for the 2018 KA Get Rated Award, part of the KA & GRM Daily Rated Awards in London. She also put on her first headline show at her home city's The Prince Albert this summer with 200 attendees, opened for Dappy on the Birmingham leg of his tour, was play-listed on Spotify’s RnB UK playlist, and appeared on SBTV’s pop up event in Birmingham.

And to further excite fans, the new single Late Night Drive is taken from her debut album set to be released in early 2019.

Speaking about the track, Sophielous said: "The single is one that will resonate with anyone listening. With its fresh grooves, addictive synth and bouncy drum patterns from producer CRT, you simply cannot play this song quietly.

"The concept of Late Night Drive was based around real life events - as always with my writing. It explores a story between two people, totally unaware of how deep in their feelings they are for each other and how escaping from their realities led them to a brand new world of their own. it is a concept many will relate to and enjoy."

Wolverhampton's Sophielou is a former The Ticket unsigned page star

Sophielou, real name Sophie Louise Nedrick, is a former The Ticket unsigned page star from July last year, and describes herself as a 'cool, quirky, yet conscious artist who creates catchy yet meaningful songs which leave listeners entrapped in her interesting melodies and flows'.

Born and bred in the city of Wolverhampton, she has built a strong community of supporters, progressively growing around the city and aiming to build in surrounding cities.

She also likes to work with local artists as this is not the first single Wolverhampton-based CRT has been involved with. She's been working with him since 2011, creating a range of tracks covering life, love and everything in between. After the success of Bright Lights, taken from Sophielou’s Out With The Old EP, they are back again making waves for this fresh new style of RnB.

Sophie adds: "Growing up in Wolverhampton, making the most of what I have definitely created a humble start in life for me, which definitely shines through in my music and character."

She says Late Night Drive is one of her favourite songs yet, adding: “The energy is where I’m at right now; high off life, having fun, bouncy and free. I know a lot of people are waiting for the album so I had to make sure they get a real flavour of what’s to come.”

With her debut album in its final stages, it really is an exciting time for Sophielou. Building her fanbase, getting support slots and radio plays, being play-listed and doing as many shows as possible are her main aims for next year, which she 'confidently feel I can achieve'.

Late Night Drive was released officially on November 16 and is available to download/stream on all digital outlets.
