Wolverhampton unsigned singer Sophielou back with a new single
Wolverhampton musician Sophielou is back with a new single.
The former unsigned star in The Ticket has been busy putting her latest material together and released All I Need in time for her fans to enjoy at the same time as England's heroics in the World Cup in Russia and the baking temperatures.
And she has been doing a bit of basking herself since it dropped.
"People have responded really well to it," she said. "Spotify have amazingly added it to their RNB UK Playlist, which has caused a rise in my listeners and streams.
"I've had a booking for a big festival in Norwich this summer, I had my headline show last night at The Prince Albert and I've been booked for Beatsabar Presents at the Newhampton Arts Centre on September 13."
She has also run her own clothing line since November 2016 - Out With The Old (OWTO) - and that has been doing well too.
"I've had lots of sales on t-shirts for the summer varying in different colours and styles.
"Out With The Old (OWTO) is growing every week, we're getting more and more sponsored artists involved meaning the clothes are constantly being seen at various gigs and via artists' social media pages."
And she's not resting on her laurels ahead of those big festival slots. Sophielou now has her eyes firmly on more material in the near future.
"I've been working on my debut album," she added. "Me and my engineer Dominic Laird are close to the finish line now, we started the recording in November and it's really close to being finished.
"After the response from the EP Out With The Old I knew I had to turn everything up a notch. I've been working closely with producers and musicians in and around the West Midlands to just take my sound to a whole new level and gather some really exciting features. At the moment it's looking to be a winter release but I won't put an exact date out until it's complete."
All I Need is available on all digital outlets such as Spotify, Apple Music, GooglePlay and Tidal.
