Julia and Nick Barnard have been decorating their Aldridge home for the last 30 years and in that time have raised £14,000 for various charities.

Each year Mr Barnard and the couple's son Ben create more displays in Westbrook Avenue as they are both electricians.

This year donations will be split between Acorns Hospice in Walsall and the Thomas Project in Aldridge.

Mrs Barnard said: "We've done it for the last 30 years now obviously it's a lot different this year with Covid.

"We normally have the front and back gardens decorated and a grotto but this year it's just the front.

"We've got normal fairy lights, figures cut out of wood and other things.

"This year we have hand sanitiser and anti-bac wipes as people put £1 in a box and the lights come on.

"It's such a weird year, we were a bit uncertain whether we could put the lights up.

"But people have said they're glad we're doing it this year.

"We started putting the decorations up November time and they will stay until Christmas Eve."
