Winning pair are dancing up a storm
A freestyle dance school in Brownhills is celebrating their students winning two top awards.
Regiment Dance is gaining national recognition after two young pupils achieved the impressive accolades.
Owner of the school Hayley Collins said it was ‘beyond her wildest dreams’.
Students Hollie Joyce, age 12, and Erin Davies, age 10, have both gained sponsorship to further their dance career, after their respective awards.
Hollie won U14 Beginner Freestyle at a national competition DIVA held at Bridlington Spa last month and then went on to win Overall Beginner against all winners of the category from the other age groups.
She won a trip to Florida in May with her dance school teacher, Hayley.
Since her win she has also gained sponsorship from company Elite Designs and gone up to the next grade of competitions. Just a few weeks ago she took home another first place trophy in U14 Starter at The Premier Dance Championships in Birmingham.
Erin Davies has also achieved a new sponsor from Dublin group Closet Culture, after she achieved an intermediate level in slow dance.
The young dancer won the U12 Starter section also at The Premier Dance Championships.
Teacher Hayley said she was overjoyed with the success of her students.
She added: “Having only started competitions in June 2018 this is a huge achievement in itself, but our next aim is to get Erin to championship level by the time June comes around again.
“We like to stay hungry and always want to be bigger and better, myself and my two teachers Danni Grove and Hollie McComisky like to set a good example for the children as it will help them in so many aspects of their lives.”
She went on to say that Hollie’s overall winner achievement was ‘the best present’ she could have wished for.
“To have an overall winner was beyond my wildest dreams,” she said.
Regiment Dance is a newly established dance school specialising in freestyle, slow dance, acrobatics, gymnastics, flexibility, conditioning and endurance.
