Open air theatre show to wow crowds

Families are being invited to experience tales of pirates, treasure, love and mayhem at two outdoor theatre productions in the surroundings of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s Wolseley Centre headquarters.

Quantum Theatre will be bringing Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Wolseley on July 25 and the classic adventure Treasure Island on July 29.

It is the first time The Wolseley Centre, near Rugeley, has hosted outdoor theatre shows.

Quantum Theatre is an outdoor theatre company which tours across the country with new adaptions of classic texts and Shakespeare plays.

All Quantum productions are written or adapted and directed by the artistic director, Michael Whitmore.

Sam Pachner from Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, said: “This is a new venture for us and we’re excited to be working with Quantum Theatre to bring these two exciting productions to our Wolseley Centre HQ.

“The grounds of our Wolseley HQ are the perfect location for events like this, and it is a great opportunity to watch a fun and quality production in a relaxed atmosphere.

“Quantum tour all over the country and we are looking forward to welcoming them to our centre.”

Money raised from the productions will go towards the trust’s conservation work looking after wildlife and wild places across Staffordshire.

Both productions will begin at 6.30pm and finish around 9pm. Those attending are being encouraged to bring their own picnics and wear warm clothing.

Tickets cost £8 for children under 16, £12 for adults and £35 for a family of four ticket (two adults, two children). There will also be a £2 car parking charge for these events.
