The comedy legend, best known for appearances on the likes of Black Books, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You and QI, will top the bill at two shows for Black Country comedy promoters Funny Beeseness.

Bailey is performing an extended 45 minute headline set at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall on Friday April 3, and Brierley Hill Civic on Saturday April 4.

Tickets went on public sale today and are expected to be snapped up quickly.

Bailey has been listed by The Observer as one of the funniest acts in British comedy and twice, in 2007 and 2010, in the top ten of Channel 4’s 100 Greatest Stand-ups.

He will be supported on both nights by South Coast Comedian of the Year Mike Cox and English Comedian of the Year finalist Simon Lomas.

The nights will be hosted as ever by resident MC Wayne Beese.

Beese said: “This is absolutely massive for us, a real coup. We’ve been privileged to work with some really big names but Bill has to be up there as the biggest so far.

“He’s a world class arena comic and we’re absolutely delighted to get him on board for these shows. I’d urge people to get tickets as they are sure to go quickly.”
