The smash-hit musical comedy Calendar Girls is playing at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre this week

The cast includes the likes of Lisa Maxwell, Sarah Jane Buckley, Sue Devaney, Julia Hills, Judy Hot, Ruth Madoc and Rebecca Storm.

The musical is inspired by the true story of a group of women who decide to appear nude for a Women’s Institute calendar in order to raise funds to buy a settee for their local hospital.

The critically-acclaimed and award-winning production played a six-month London season at the Phoenix Theatre in 2017, and, before that, it played sold-out seasons in Leeds and Manchester.

Scott Bird, press and PR manager at the Grand Theatre, said: “Calendar Girls is the well-known story that is full of heart and now as a brand new stage production with music by Gary Barlow, it takes on a new life.

“With a cast of stage and screen favourites and bucket-loads of sunflowers we are looking forward to a colourful week with a show that brings sunshine to this grey autumn week.”

Calendar Girls the Musical runs at Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre until September 28. To buy tickets, visit www.grandtheatre.co.uk.
